— Mitsubishi Evolution – From Top Gear

November 21, 2009

Now, I love EVOs. I know its kinda trendy and people think I should be in a Mercedes or BMW…. because I’m Classy… and old! (I guess). But the Mitsubishi “Evolution” is a phenomenal car. Currently we are on the Evolution 10. This 2009, 10th Generation Evo is without a doubt, the best version to date. The care is a monster and you’ll never talk to anyone who has driven it and doesn’t like it. And I gotta say; I love my current car, but I’m right on the verge of making an Evo my next car (in a...

— Formula One – 2009 – Grand Prix Of Abu Dhabi

Here we are at Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. This brand new track is called Yas Marina Circuit. It is the most extravagant and expensive racing facility ever built (at one time). The track is surrounded by super yacht berths, brand new facilities, and of course, Ferrari Land. Ferrari Land is the largest indoor theme park on the planet. Still shiny and new, no one knows the track that well since it is so brand spanking new. The Race starts on the grid with: 1st) Lewis Hamilton – McLaren Mercedes 2nd) Sebastian Vettel – Red Bull Renault...

— Oasis Of The Sea – By Royal Caribbean

Why am I writing about a cruise ship you ask? I’m not really a cruise kind of guy. Mostly because of safety and security issues and I don’t find it interesting to be trapped on a big-ass boat for days on end. But I do like Marvels of engineering. Just as I like Las Vegas Casino’s. Royal Caribbean makes some amazing ocean liners and OASIS Of The Seas is the newest. It has now become the worlds largest cruise ship. I could tell you 220,000 tons or whatever but how about this. Its 7 times the size of Titanic....

panamera-600x398

The latest Porsche to hit the roads is the Panamera! Styling: Now, here’s the contentious area. The long sloping nose is as slippery as a fish and it meets the ground so perfectly in the front. This is especially important because they had to move the Engine up front to keep the peace between (1) space in the rear for storage, (2) space in the rear for seats, and (3) the need for balance front and rear of the vehicle. This Porsche is pure slippery. The wind goes over and around it perfectly. The rear wing is multi-stage and...

— Formula 1 – 2009 – Grand Prix of Brazil

We are back and ready to race. The race is in Sao Paulo Brazil. The track is called Interlagos. It is known for having a bunch of random (usually raining) finishes. It is sure to be interesting. During the qualifying sessions there was rain and it has thrown everyone off. Some of the drivers in contention for Drivers Championship or the Constructors Championship have been shuffled to the rear of the grid. Even Sebastian Vettel ended up in 16th. In Ferrari news: Massa is back (not racing). Before the Grand Prix of Hungary, he was hit in the head...

— F-1 – 2009 – Grand Prix of Japan

This is the first F-1 Race on this track in 3 years because it was undergoing a slight refurb (including resurfacing). Suzuka has always been fast and full of action. The action in this race actually started during qualifying where many of the contenders ended up back in the grid. Whether due to broken transmissions or passing through the site of an accident too fast, 7 teams were penalized for the start. And just think. Many of the racers here today haven’t been racing F-1 long enough to have raced this track so many have no idea what they...

— Driving in Italy

September 20, 2009

Seems like just yesterday I was living in Europe. I used to love driving there. It was never boring. You didn’t have to drive in straight lines for too long because every road was curvy winding its way on path prior to cars. So before I was leaving I took some video of me driving around. Why?? who knows really. I think for nostalgia. I never want to forget it.. But now, I’m realizing I never will. Jump to present week. I’m cleaning up and run right into that footage. Its cool but.. Watching 20 minutes of video —...

— Formula One – 2009 – Grand Prix Of Italy

This is the Grand Prix of Italy. Now I shouldn’t have to even say what this track is; but I’ll say it anyway. Autodroma Natianale Di Monza, Italy…. But we know it as Monza! This is perhaps the most famous track in the world. In American, everyone knows Indianapolis. In the World, everyone knows Monza. It is 3.5 miles of crazy turns, high-speed straights, and the fastest high-speed turns in F-1… Named Parabollica. It is THE fastest circuit in F-1. This track is so well renowned, that more F1 races have been held here than anywhere else. Replacing Massa...

— Formula One – 2009 – Grand Prix Of Belgium

August 31, 2009

This is my post for yesterday’s F1 Race. This is the 12th race of the season and track today is SPA Francorchamps in Belgium.  It’s a great track. It is the longest track in F1 at 4.5 miles with the fastest turn and one of the sharpest.  This is going to be an interesting race because of how the teams qualified.  Presumably, the fastest cars should be in the front on the starting grid.  This is done by “qualifying” the cars.  In the past few years, qualifying has become a interesting proposition and in this race, The race starts...

No matter how many times I see this video, I love it. If you dig cars, and you dig speeding watch it. I love driving in Europe and just watching the streets (I’ve been here) go by just takes me back. Makes me wish it was me… but I’d never do anything like this.. Right! I dig the way they cut (edited) the video together. It just seems to flow even though they didn’t edit the songs themselves. It just seems so natural like they planned it. I love the cars as they 4-wheel drift on the streets. Try...
